Research Areas

·     My current research program encompasses the long-term effect of different factors on weed community dynamics and sustainability in rice-chickpea/lentil cropping system. I have worked particularly on the effects of crop sequences, intercropping systems, tillage, agro technology and weed management practices through herbicidal and non herbicidal means on dynamics of weed flora in both plant and seed bank communities in corn-chickpea, chickpea+mustard, urdbean-chickpea, pigeon pea+ mungbean/urdbean etc for sustainability under various situations.

·     Weed biology, ecology and management of purple nut sedge in different crops and cropping systems both through non-herbicidal and herbicidal means to understand the mechanism of allelopathy on management of weed flora in different cropping system.

·     Effect of adjuvant in tank mixing with herbicides for management of weeds in wheat to curtail herbicidal doses.

·     Biology and ecology of prominent weeds and their management in different crops like rice, wheat, corn, soybean, food legumes etc in different crop situations and environment.
